One of the first houses of the village at the corner between S.s. and the main street is „Zu Treyen“, an historical building now turned into a bar and a small country store.The bar offers typical home made pastries while in the country store you find a lot of different kinds of bread.
Following the street you see on your left the fields and „Gesù dei Campi“ and on your right the last hill of the village, from here you get to a widening where was located the old Neuwirt Hotel. This building was the place where the young, especially from Netherlands, arrived and stayed during the seventies. They dwelled here and in some houses nearby called „Colonie“. On the right there is a little street wich leads to two typical buildings of this region (Maso), and one of these, Maso Mutschlechner, is very old and attractive.

San Sigismondo is not a tourist destination, as many villages near by. This is a vantage because it means an high level of lifestyle quality. This beautiful village is sited in the flat, solar part of Val Pusteria and is very near to the most important and equipped tourist towns of the region (10-15 min.).
The public means connecting San Sigismondo and its discrict allow everyone to move freely and easily. It is even possible to reach the nearby villages walking along the flatty paths.
The ordinary life is San Sigismondo is quiet and tranquil: you can spend your time walking in the woods or along the old paths, picking up mushrooms, strawberries, cranberries, blueberries and pinecons to make Mugolio.
